Hello, my name is Adaobi Amechi and I’m in the process of completing my LLM LPC at BPP University, Birmingham.
Like most people, I moved to the UK in 2014 and graduated three years later with a 2.1 in LLB Law, from the University of Exeter. Now, I’m a city girl.
At this stage of my law career, I am still applying for Training Contracts. Something I’ve found particularly difficult is “selling myself” - portraying myself and my experiences in a manner appealing to prospective employers. However, I have found that with each application I gain a better understanding of what law firms look for and most importantly, what I am looking for. Perseverance is/has been the key word in my legal journey thus far; the plan has always been to become a Solicitor and I don’t plan on giving it up any time soon.
Through BAME Nation, I hope to share the lessons I have learnt and make your legal journey just a bit easier.
